许平 Xu Ping
Xu Ping, born in Nantong, Jiangsu Province in 1953, was born in Pengze, Jiangxi Province. He has a PhD in Fine Arts. He graduated from Nanjing University of the Arts with a master’s degree from 1984-1987 and stayed on as a teacher. From 1988-1991, he received a doctorate from Nanjing University of the Arts. 1991-1992 Aichi Prefectural University of the Arts, Japan. From 1992 to 1999, he was hired successively as the director of the history teaching and research section, the head of the department, and the dean of the School of Design of the Art Department of Nanjing University of the Arts. He was transferred to the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2002 and is currently the deputy dean, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Design. In 2004, he completed the “Research on China’s Industrial Design Industry Development Policy”; in 2005, he presided over the “DRC-Beijing Industrial Design Resource Collaboration Center Program Research” project; in 2006, he presided over the completion of the “Research Report on the Policy of Strengthening Design and Creative Talents in Beijing”.
